Ian has been offered a job which sounds great. His title will be "Operations Improvement Director". We don't really know what that means just yet as we haven't had the formal offer through yet; we are expecting it later today. For those up on the business speak it will be working for an investment company who specialise in turnarounds of large corporates. In the interview he was asked about the ethical implications of downsizing (making lots of people redundant in other words) given his obvious christian background. What he should have said was that this will be a step up from being an arms dealer but in fact he gave a very savvy business response. most importantly he was glad that they recognised that this important aspect of turnarounds has an ethical dimension which makes up part at least of their considerations.
We're getting excited about looking at houses now. We have been enjoying Titirangi though we would love to find a sunnier house than the one we are renting.
I haven't mentioned much about church recently but we have been getting stuck in at St pauls. We have joined a housegroup and made some great friends. We are about to start a "meaningless" series on Ecclesiastes.
