Even the little prayers get answered¬

On Sunday morning it looked like the sun was making a valiant effort to appear for more than a few minutes between clouds, so ian and i decided to take the MGB to church. It has been in the garage for the last few months hibernating. Ian has been saying that it really needs a service and needs to be tuned. He was a little reluctant after church to agree tio take me to Cribbs. I'm not sure if that was entirely due to the car! At any rate, off we went and managed to make decent progress along the M4 towards the M5 interchange before we slowly lost power and ground to a halt. I took up a position behind the crash barrier while Ian tried to fix the car on the hard shoulder. It had begun to rain a bit by now. I said a few prayers asking that God would enable Ian to fix the car. Just then Ian came over to me to tell me that his tool box was still in the flat as someone had borrowed. The accelerator cable had almost completely frayed so that fuel could not get into the engine. Just as he was telling me this he lloked at the ground by my feet and saw a screwdriver! A fairly old battered one, but good enough to stick in the engine to provide a constant stream of fuel so that we could drift back into Bristol at about 15mph!

Needless to say we didn't make to Cribbs! We did go last night however in the more reliable, altogether more dull and depreciating Rover. Partially successful mission in that I picked up some cheap and cheerful maternity stuff from H&M (bargain top for a fiver) but Ian didn't manage to get me in a dress.
