Can certainly recommend having a look at Solomon's life. Boy did he get a few things wrong. his life is a great illustration of the difference between God's unconditional promises and the conditional ones. Check out 1Kings 1 - 11.

Got to dash as having a breif moment of fame in the Crown Court prosecuting a woman who received an ASBO (Anti-social behaviour order) because of repeated "suicide attempts" - jumping into the River Avon numerous times, walking on railway tracks and ringing the police from the top of multi-story car parks to say she's going to jump. Contrary to what you might think she is not mentally ill but does have a personality disorder and a fascination with police officers. Will be interested to see how the media report it. The suggestion is that she has been more motivated by that than by any real desire to commit suicide. There is clearly something spiritual going on!
