At home group last night when we were giving thanks for good stuff in the past year and sharing hopes for the coming year, it became clear that most of us had fairly dysfunctional families on some level. We had all found the process of supporting and loving them in the midst of trying times fairly tiring and emotionally draining. the joy of seeing God answer prayers in this area is particularly special. One of our group reminded us of the verse (which we couldn't find last night so if you know do let me know) which says that God will provide for us brothers, sisters and mothers. It is helfpul to be able to identify in our lives people God brings to us to give and sustain us, bless and support us at one end - while at the other we may be being drained and sapped by demanding relationships in our families.
So for all those spiritual brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, aunties, uncles... thank you.
