Last night we turned on the water into our new bathroom. Ian has done all the plumbing himself and has done a fabulous job. Nonetheless we were a bit nervous about the various joints behind the walls. The two new bedrooms were due to have sinks (and may one day) but for now they just have taps. Ian had myself and Ben Akin-Smith posted at various points with buckets. Fairly uneventful thankfully. One leak off the cold water and the hot seemed to be doing fine. No hissing in the walls and no leaking joints.
Until that is about 11.30 that night when we heard an almighty bang and gushing water! The hot water tap connection to the bath and given up. Poor Ian nearly broke his neck sprinting for the taps. luckily we had stopped watching the Matrix or we may not even have heard the water and it would have been much worse than the small flood we did have.
Still, we pray and trust that the joints behind our lovely new walls are secure and leak-proof. A few prayers on that would be great. We know God has been blessing this project and it has been wonderful to use our home for His work.
Merry Christmas everyone! I pray that our families (spiritual and earthly) will be strengthened and protected at this fantastic, if a little trying, time.
