Zoo & Chinese Restaurant

It was another lovely spring day today. Still a chilly wind mind you. We had a good wander around the zoo and were treated to a glimpse of one of the new tiger cubs. Mummy tiger was walking her cubs from one enclosure to another over a caged walkway. It was really cute to hear her calling out to her cubs with a sort of mewling growl. We also did the zoo train tour this trip which we hadn't done before. Good way to learn more of the animals names - like Doris the Alligator and Faith & Fudge the Hippos.

All our best British mates were at the restaurant for lunch - including a visitor from Bristol who found it very surreal to be surrounded by 3 Bristol couples in Auckland. Ethan was adventurous enough to try some prawn toast but basically dined on custard. Immy was busy practising her clapping and giggling and generally being very cute - until she stabbed herself in the face with a hot cigarette lighter that had been used to light a birthday cake and left within reach of her ever-extending grasp. She just has a little mark by the side of her nose but she let out quite a yell!

as you can see, Buzz came too...
