We landed at Auckland airport yesterday at about 5am as scheduled after a very comfortable and stress-free trip. We had been a bit concerned about going through LA airport and having to transfer from the domestic to the international terminal with only 2 hours between flights. That all went perfectly and we didn't have any queues there or at security - or at JFK in New York for that matter. Ethan slept a little on the first flight and amused himself the rest of the time. On the second flight he slept for almost 9 hours!
It's great to be home even though it is cold and very wet. I'd forgotten how cold our unheated uninsulated house is in the winter. We had to go out and buy an electric blanket yesterday. Today we will continue unpacking, sorting mail and getting the house back in shape. It has been very well looked after by neighbours and a series of house-sitters. James even got our cars working again for us so we had some transport when we got home. Unfortunately damp Titirangi means that one car is covered in mould inside including the pram and clothes that I had left in there.
