
It is still the 4th July here even if my computer thinks it's the 5th because it's on NZ time. This morning we went out to Van Cortlandt Manor House for some Independence Day festivities. There was traditional games and dancing...

weaving, open hearth cooking, spinning and making fire with flints (not that we saw anyone manage to do that)!

The cannon demonstration was very loud - a bit terrifying for Ethan so we headed home after a picnic lunch for a wet afternoon of packing.

The other photos are from last weekend when we spent the morning at White Plains' open air pool at Saxon Woods. It has a massive pool and children's play area but unfortunately the water was still pretty cold. Ethan must be a comfort swimmer like me as it was too cold for him.
