Isn't it great that God can and does answer even our most hastily whispered and ill-conceived prayers? We had a meeting last night with the other residents of the flats in our building. Ian is secretary of the management company and looks out for maintenance and that sort of thing. We are due (overdue) to do some serious work on the outside of the building involving scaffolding and repairing masonry. We basically were asking each flat for a considerable amount of money to do it. I was really worried it would start conflicts among us or that people would disagree but every seemed happy that it needs to be done. We now need to pray that the builders we have chosen are good and will do it for the fair price they have quoted within the time they have estimated.
More thoughts on NZ....
I was thinking that it doesn't really matter whether we got Work to residency or full residency apart from the fact that the former would involve a bit more paperwork, fees and hassle. But actually, the big difference is that if we get residency, it doesn't matter how we support ourselves. We would not have to get conventional jobs and keep them for at least 6 mths - we could, for example, get more involved in study, training and leadership. Just a thought....
