We have now had two house group evenings. It has been great so far. We have been fairly small in number - 5 or 6 each night - but it already feels like good relationships are being built and God is at work in us!
Last night we looked at God as a loving Father and awesome creator. Ian and I had some fun with his powerpoint projector from work and we beamed up some images from the Hubble telescope onto the wall of our living room. We were looking at photos of galaxies 100s millions light years away, and stars being formed and stars dying. Pretty mind blowing stuff.
I was reminded of a passage in Dallas Willard's Divine Conspiracy (pp72-74) where he reflects on the fact that God gets to enjoy his creation and much more all the time! We each have perhaps a few memories of great events, sights, or sounds - but God has millions of them in our world and beyond. That makes it all the more amazing for me to think that He chose me to have a relationship with Him.
