School visit

Ethan's first school visit went well. He was much more nervous and clingy than I was expecting. He has been king of kindy for quite a while now so i am used to seeing him super-confident. It must have been quite intimidating for him really. At 8.50 the whole junior school have ten minutes of "Jump Jam" when older kids and teachers lead them in some dancing in the playground. Ethan didn't fancy that and was asking to go home pretty much as soon as we got there.

In the classroom he was the centre of attention as it was a while since the class had had a newbie. Everyone wanted to be his buddy, but Ethan number 1 has taken Ethan number 2 under his wing. He is in Room 1 with Mrs Ludbrook. This isn't the room we were expecting so he is not with the friends we thought he would be with - but there were a few familiar faces from his kindy. He asked to go home quite a few times but by the end he was happy reading with the teacher. We stayed just for two hours up to break time. He had a good run around with Ethan number 1 and left on a good note. He thinks he will enjoy it when he is 5.

So glad he thinks another day at school is a good idea! So many new things to remember and probably wondering what Immy and Daniel are doing as well. Love to you all.

dear Ethan, Your first time at school sounded a bit scary but you will soon make new friends and be bringing them home for afternoon tea. Jesus will be looking after you even though you may have forgotten to ask him, isn't that wondeful !

Hello Ethan,
Two hours on your first day is very good, soon all those new faces in your class will be your NEW friends - your Mum and Dad are going to be so busy just keeping up with you now.
Mrs Ludbrook looks like she enjoys some fun, love the photo of her dressed up in a "Fireman's suit", so good you spent some time reading with her.
Just remember - new experiences can be sooh exciting!
Have fun and enjoy all you can learn at school.
Mim and Grandpa sent your number 5 birthday pressie off from Australia yesterday.
Hugs and love to you all
