On Saturday we headed into Manhattan for the Tribeca Film Festival's Family Festival. It was a lovely warm day. We ate pizza from Robert de Niro's restaurant and soaked up all the free entertainment.
There were a couple of great puppet shows. This one was a rendition of the B52s Love Shack. Not standard fare for children's festivals i wouldn't have thought!
NYPD's finest were on duty just in case of trouble.
These guys were amazing musicians and had remarkable stamina for standing on stilts - actually the one on the left is a woman.
There were a few ladies in lots of pink lycra.

After all that excitement we chilled out at Battery Park City where Ethan managed to commandeer some other poor kid's glasses and tractor. I have a sneaking suspicion he ate his food as well! Through our very friendly little man we met about 4 other couples in the park - we even exchanged numbers with one couple: two soccer players by the name of Joe and Mary-Jo and their 5 month old baby boy.
We stayed at the Turrigianos flat on saturday night. They laid on dinner and drinks in the evening for some friends so we got to see some old and new faces from the NYC Vineyard community.
No doubt the highlight of the weekend for Ethan was getting to play the drums before and after the service! There was a good turnout at church despite the fact that a bike-a-thon had closed a lot of roads out of Manhattan. It is still a small congregation but has a very loving family feel about it. I think it will be great for us to get involved there for the next couple of months.
We were saddened today to hear the news that the pastors of the Upper West Side Vineyard have stood down for personal reasons having had a few very tough years of ministry there. We prayed for them and the community on upper west side that are left behind.
