Faith and wisdom

We are struggling at the moment with knowing the difference between being wise stewards and shrewd managers of what God has given us but at the same time not leaning on our own understanding but acknowledging God in all our decisions. I guess acknowledging must mean simply allowing God to be God and finding our security in him. All very easy to say. I am frequently reminded of the birthday card cartoon depicting a man stuck on the roof of his house during a flood praying that God will rescue him. Because of his "great faith" that God would rescue he turned down help from a rescue helicpoter and a passing boat before the flood swamped his house. At the gates of heaven God wasn't very impressed with his decision making.

Tricky work meeting for Ian next week. Prayers appreciated.

Anyone interested in renting a 4 bed flat in Clifton?
