We have just got back from a fabulous holiday in France. We went ski-ing in the Alps. We stayed in a village called Montchavin from where we could access both La Plagne and Les Arcs. The snow was great and we had bright sunshine on most of the days. Not everything went completely to plan as most of us were a bit sick at some point or other. 11 adults and 4 children under 2 cramped into two chalets was always going to be a breeding ground for bugs! I think we shared most of them around. Still, it was a refreshing holiday even though we have come back physically exhausted. The beauty of the mountains is just awesome. It makes me want to sing the words from "When I survey the wondrous cross" which go something like this :
"Were the whole realm of nature mine,
it were an offering far too small,
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all".
It's great to be back in Bristol actually. We went to our home church on Sunday for the first time in about three weeks. I've missed all the folks there. It was interested to hear Si Lexton talking about issues surrounding the legacy that we leave behind - very similar to what i was saying we heard about in Belfast the other week.
